EBS BILLY SHEEHAN SIGNATURE DRIVE TO BE RELEASED AT NAMM!
The Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, Jan 24-27 is the scene for the release of the new extraordinary EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive pedal. A pedal developed by EBS in close co-operation with legendary bassist Billy Sheehan.
The new pedal is based on the concept of mixing together a clean signal with a distorted to be able to preserve low frequencies and find balance between distortion and definition.
The option to activate a built-in compressor make possible to keep the note differentiation clearly audible even at heavily distorted sounds.
On top of that this pedal offers unlimited pre-post mix tone shaping, through the unique features of a clean loop and a drive loop. So, the user can insert any other effect they wish within each loop to ’pimp’ the effect into your own signature effect! Example: add a graphic EQ to the drive, to change the character of the distortion.Or add your favourit compressor to the Clean Loop instead of using the built-in offered in the pedal.
On the new extended sized stomp box from EBS, there are controls for Drive (gain for the overdrive engine), Tone (sets the frequency scoop for the drive), Level (sets level for drive channel post DriveLoop and pre final compressor) and Clean (sets level for the clean channel, post Clean Loop and pre final compressor).
The pedal offers three different compression modes: High, Mid and Off. The level of compression on the Mid setting can be determined by the user through an internal trim pot.
It is due to start shipping out simultaneously with the NAMM Show, and begin to hit stores worldwide in February.
Here's what Billy Sheehan says about it: “This pedal is a distillate of several important principles in the signal chain for bass. Compression, distortion,
tone-shaping and blending all together.”
OFFICIAL RELEASE EVENT WITH BILLY SHEEHAN TAKE PLACE AT THE EBS BOOTH, HALL B, #5391 ON FRIDAY, JAN 25 @ 4PM.
Specifications and further details will be online shortly after NAMM.

EBS FAFNER II - FIVE OUT OF FIVE IN BASS GUITAR MAGAZINE REVIEW!
First review of the EBS Fafner II in an international publication came out great - five out of five in British premier bass publication Bass Guitar Magazine in their April issue (on sale now)!
Here's some quotes:
"The Fafner II and NeoLine 410 represent one of the best and most versatile rigs available. Feature-packed amp and compact-size cabinet - just what the pro bassist needs!"
"There's a distinct quality you get when playing through this rig, almost as if you're listening to your bass through powerful studio monitors after an experienced engineer has added just the right EQ".
"Cranking up the volume to stage levels and adding in the drive really reveals this amp's attitude. The fact that it comes with its own set of earplugs gives you some idea of what this rig is capable of!"
"Though at first glance the Fafner II seems rather complicated, in use it's amazingly intuitive, with everything laid out in a clear and efficient way. An amp with such prominent distortion and overdrive features will, of course, appeal to rock and metal players, but this is one rig that has the power and versatility to work in any situation".
"With products as strong as these and a new UK distributor (Sound Technology), the future looks good for EBS, and deservedly so."

EBS Pedals reviewed with guitar in UK magazine Guitarist
Guitarist magazine review six of EBS Black Label Pedals in their March Issue (339). For the second time, the EBS TremoLo recieves and "Editor's Award" in a guitar magazine, and all the other five tested pedals did pretty good too! Here's some quotes from the test:
EBS DPhaser "From classic seventies phase sounds reminiscent of the legendary orange MXR boxes, through deeper eight-stage phasing, to swooshing sounds verging on flanging courtesy of the wide settings 18-stage phasing with differential modulation, the DPhaser covers a lot of ground, but always sounds classy, 4/5".
EBS MetalDrive "Not just for metal, this is way more versatile than a standard overdrive/distortion pedal, 4/5".
EBS MultiComp "Quality compression in three subtly different flavours makes the MultiComp a versatile pedalboard asset, 4/5".
EBS OctaBass "Blending your sound is very straightforward, as there's a knob each for your normal sound and the low octave. The mid setting gives you a classic octave down effect but, if you want a weightier sound, low provides a really fat bottom end. The high setting offers a more effected sound that's reminiscent of a synth bass playing in unison, 3.5/5".
EBS Tremolo "One of the finest and most versatile compact tremolo pedals available today, 4.5/5". Guitarist Choice Award.
EBS BassIQ "Whether you play guitar or bass, this pedal has most certainly got the funk", 4/5.
The magazine is available in UK and some other European countries. Buy it to get the full story!

Two separate balanced XLR-outputs – one pre and one post EQ – make possible to blend a clean signal with a processed straight from the amp. Individual effect loops for each channel, and a common loop provide maximum flexibility when hooking up your effects. The built in compressor from EBS is famous. On the Fafner II it is clever than ever, since it only compress the clean channel and leave the drive channel as wild as you want it.
EBS Fafner II is designed, developed and entirely built in Sweden. EBS Fafner II is now available to order!

EBS CLASSIC SESSION 60 recieves “TOP GEAR of the Month” Award in TopGuitar Magazine, Poland
TopGuitar magazine announces that the EBS Classic Session 60 bass combo received the “Top Gear” editors' award for May. Here's some excerpts from the review:
“Concerning a massive amount of low end, which until now has been available only from larger cabinets, the possibility of positioning the combo at 45 degrees becomes priceless.”
“EBS Classic Session 60 offers much more than one would expect from its look. Small and handy, with an impressive low end response and an attractive pricing, this combo deserves a podium in its class.”
"One of the best bass combos under 1000 Euro - simply brilliant" *
Markus Vogler, Beyer's Music Store, Germany * The Session 60 lists around 300 Euro.

EBS Announcement: Fafner II ready for a summer 2010 release!
The time has come to introduce the Fafner II. This new 2-channel ’flagship’ from EBS is packed with great and useful features that makes this amp stand out from the rest. The Fafner II is second to none!
Two channels
EBS Fafner II use a two channel preamp that can be run in series or parallel mode. Since you can switch between the channels or blend them together it open up a lot of possibilities to shape your sound.
Footswitch control
Use a remote footswitch control (EBS RM-4) to switch between the channels, bypass filters, kick in the character filters or mute the rig while tuning.
Two separate XLR-outputs
A very rare feature on the Fafner II amp is the two separate balanced XLR-outputs – one pre and one post EQ. This creates the opportunity to blend a clean signal with a processed straight from the amp, or to use a clean signal to front of house and your own sound in the monitors on stage. Not to speak about the extended options it will give in a recording situation!
Individual effect loops
Individual effect loops for each channel, and a common loop provide maximum flexibility when hooking up your effects. For example, you can connect a noise gate to the drive channel, without affecting the clean channel, while you can use a chorus on the clean channel, without affect the drive channel.
EBS Fafner II is designed, developed and built in Sweden. EBS Fafner II is now in production and is estimated to start shipping sometime in the summer of 2010.

EBS TD660 is the updated and improved version of EBS previously released TD650 bass amp. The new version offers an improved preamp that gives more headroom and the possibility to use a footswitch to control different functions.
EBS TD660 is a development from EBS popular TD650 model. The main news with the TD660 is the improved preamp that provide more headroom and reduced noise, and the ability to connect a footswitch to control the Drive, Character and Filter functions, as well as Mute the amp.
The update also include that the Effects Loop now is placed after the Drive and has a Mix-In filter to control the level of overall effect on the sound. The new amp has a slightly preshaped sound to improve the overall sound and to give the amp more character from the start. The chromed handles are replaced with black to match the case and to give the amp a bit rougher look.
At the same time the new footswitch EBS RM-4 is released. The EBS RM-4 can be used with the TD660 as well as with the previously released EBS NeoGorm combos.
The EBS TD660 will replace the EBS TD650 from now on and will be officially introduced at WinterNamm, Hall D, 3382.

Everything from classical 70’s sounds up to hyper modern swarling phasing effects. Three different modes and three different resonance settings produce a wide range of cool sounds, controls for Width and Rate gives full control of the effect and even more adjustments can be made inside the box. While the DPhaser offer juicy analog-quality sounds, the use of the latest digital DSP technique makes it possible to fit in the same compact format that the Black Label Pedals are knowned and praised for.
"I’d even go as far as to say that from this point on, the EBS MetalDrive will set the standard to which all Bass distortion pedals will now be judged. " - Guitar Ink Magazine.
For immideate release: EBS Classic Session 60 - 60 W Tiltback Combo!
The EBS Classic Session 60 is a new combo from EBS in the Classic Line. It is equipped with a 60 W amp, easiest described as a scaled down Classic 450 amp, with a preshape character to offer great sound right out of the box!
The Session 60 tiltback combo is the perfect rehearsal and small club amp - at the right price. Featured with stereo input jacks and a mix-in filter makes it possible to practice to recorded music, and the stereo phones output jack can be used on late nights when you don't want to disturb your neighbours. The balanced XLR-output makes it great for live use on a larger stage and in the studio as well.
The Session 60 combo is equipped with Gain, Bass, Treble and Volume controls, as well as a Character and an Enhanced filter.
The EBS Classic T90 All-Tube bass amp is developed by EBS and experts with more than 20 years experience from building exclusive tube amps for hi-fi and guitar. The result is a hand-built tube amp with special designed transformers and selected and matched tubes (2x 7025 in the pre amp, 2x 6550 in the power amp).
The 90 tube-Watts makes the EBS Classic T90 a perfect amp for the studio, especially since it comes with a direct driven balanced tube output. The amp is also very well suited for use in live situations on smaller stages and club gigs – and a perfect companion to the matching EBS ClassicLine cabinets.
The special designed transformers are overdimensioned and all materials carefully selected to perform at a maximum level - at all times.
The tubes are quality selected and matched with precision, and burnt-in for 24 hours after mounted in the amp to reveal any quality issues in time.
The amp has a separate input for active and passive instruments and a separate output for 4 Ohms and 8 Ohms speaker cabinets. The control panel has a classic style layout with controls for Volume, Bass, Treble and Presence.
First delivery is estimated to late November 2009.
Soundsamples for EBS Metal Drive!
Soundsamples - played by Victor Brandt (Entombed, ex-Satyricon, Totalt Jävla Mörker) - is now added to the product page for EBS Metal Drive. The manual is also now available to download.
The EBS MetalDrive is the eighth pedal in the EBS Black Label series. The idea behind the pedal was born after modifying a MultiDrive pedal for bass player John Moyer of Disturbed, who needed a pedal for bass that delivered not only overdrive but pure metal distortion that could match Disturbeds famed heavy guitar riffs. So, EBS techs took on the commission to create the meanest and heaviest distortion pedal ever made for bass, and came up with the EBS MetalDrive!
The pedal will start shipping at the end of June 2009.
EBS Stanley Clarke Signature Wah Wah - ready for shipping!
First deliveries of the EBS Stanley Clarke Signature Wah-Wah presented at the Winter NAMM 2009 will take place at the beginning of June.
